What do you want Neskowin to be?

Neskowin’s Community Plan is a document that tells Tillamook County what we, the Neskowin Community, care about and prefer in terms of Land Use and beyond. The Community Plan Steering Committee is charged with producing an updated Community Plan, and it will begin the process of collecting input from the community during two meetings in the month of April.

“Neskowin citizens want Neskowin to be…”

The current Community Plan developed in the late Nineties frames the “Neskowin Values Statement” as completions of that sentence. You can read the current Neskowin Values Statement below, or read the current Community plan HERE. During these April meetings, we will discuss what we still value today, and what has changed.

These meetings will be held in “hybrid” format, meaning that a limited number of participants can attend the meeting in person.

For in person attendees, the meeting will be held at the Neskowin Beach Golf Club clubhouse.

View a Flyer from the Community Plan Steering Committee for more information.

Neskowin Values Statement

Neskowin citizens want Neskowin to be:

a place where safety, adequate utility services, and essential pedestrian streets are priorities.

a place where a quiet, natural, beach atmosphere is found in individually owned properties as well as along the streets and on public property.

a place where the environment and beauty of natural setting is prized.

a village predominantly made up of private residences with a minimum of commercial activity and a respect for appropriate construction guidelines.

a place that has a community spirit and friendly atmosphere, and yet also has a respect for individual privacy.

a place where children and their education are prized and the arts are encouraged. a place that is committed to preserving its village feel and special qualities through

seeking the opinions of its permanent and intermittent residents and then conveying those opinions collectively and democratically to county and state agencies as well as to all individuals thinking about becoming a part of the community and its future.
